GEMA declaration
As a disc manufacturer, we are obliged to report every disc manufactured to GEMA. The customer is responsible for the reporting of and payment for GEMA licences.
In essence, all rights (copyright and other rights) need to have been acquired before you can assert them and before recording media are manufactured and sold.
GEMA charges the user a licence fee for the use of works protected by GEMA. The level of the licence fee depends on the respective selling price (wholesale price or retail price). A minimum charge may also apply.
The manufacture and distribution of recording media containing works belonging to the global repertoire administered and protected by GEMA (Gesellschaft für musikalische Aufführungs- und mechanische Vervielfältigungsrechte) calls on the following copyright rights:
The copyright holder"s right of reproduction (§16 of the German Copyright Act)
The copyright holder"s right of distribution (§17 of the German Copyright Act)
